My SII was running Andriod Gingerbread 2.3, so thought to upgrade it. I used 'Kies' and it was more easy than I thought. The Backup/Restore features relaxes you a lot, so before you begin as usu make sure, all things are back'ed up.
Its kind of simple once you connect through kies and it does the rest.
Now I am running Ice Cream Sandiwitch 4.04. It was easy and nice. Now waiting for Jelly Bean update to be available in India !
